Meat has been of great nutritional value for thousands of years now. It is categorized in red and white meat. Red meat is mostly from pork, lamb, and beef while white meat is mainly from poultry. Both red and white meat has proven to be a source of protein, vitamins, and other nutrients. However, meat can become unhealthy when it is taken in plenty, it can cause cancer and heart diseases. For this, it is recommended to be taken in small quantities. In this article, we are looking at the different and common varieties of meat.

  • Beef.

Beef is generally meat from cattle raised for meat. It is mainly from cows, bulls, and goats.  There is always some confusion between bison meat and beef. Bison is meat cokes from bison and animal that is commonly referred to as a buffalo or American buffalo. Its meat is a learner and healthier than beef especially if you want to reduce your fat and calorie intake. Papa Earth Bison meat is a good source of meat from bison which is a better alternative to beef. Both beef and bison is a great source of iron, zinc, and vitamin.

  • Pork.

Pork is meat from pigs. Although it has had been confused to being white meat, it has been clarified that it is red since it contains a large amount of myoglobin. It is one of the most common forms of meat and can be used to make a variety of meat products like Bacon, Sausages, Jamon, Ham, Hotdogs, and Prosciutto. It is known to be a great source of thiamin.

  • Lamb and Mutton.

Both lamb and mutton come from sheep but the difference is that lamb comes from a sheep less than a year old while mutton is meat from a grown sheep, an adult sheep. Their most popular product is lamb chops. Lamb and mutton contain health-protective nutrients like zinc, selenium, and B vitamins.

  • Chicken.

Chicken is categorized as white meat, it is among the three popular meat types. It is served as fried chicken, roasted chicken to chicken soup. Most chicken meats are cheap and affordable. It is the best choice for people who don’t prefer fat intake and like to have a high protein intake. It also provides a decent source of vitamins and minerals, selenium, potassium, phosphorus, and vitamins in particular.

Other types of meat include turkey, venison, duck, wild boar, goose, rabbit, and pheasant. They all a source of proteins and vitamins which are essential in the body.
